Ginny Rosenkranz has worked for the University of Maryland Extension since 1994 as the Commercial Horticulturist and Master Gardener Coordinator for Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties. She earned her BS in Botany from the University of Maryland, College Park and her MS in Horticulture and Extension Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Ginny assists arborists, greenhouse growers, nursery growers, landscape contractors, lawn maintenance contractors, garden center operators and golf courses with their Total Plant Management, Integrated Pest management and production issues. She prepares and presents at 3 or more commercial pesticide re-certification conferences and teaches both pesticide and urban nutrient management programs. As a Master Gardener Coordinator, she teaches parts of the Master Gardener Basic course, including Ecology, Botany and Herbaceous Perennials each fall that attracts about 20 interested citizens a year from all 3 counties and has over 80 active Master Gardeners. To reach the Green Industry, Ginny writes a weekly Plant of the Week for an online Newsletter that comes out from March and continues until the end of October and reaches over 4,000 members of the Green Industry. She also writes for Free State Magazine that is mailed to the Green Industry spring, summer and autumn and reaches over 900 of the Green Industry. For the home gardeners, Ginny writes a monthly article for Shore Home and Garden that is distributed free on the mid and upper shore. Ginny has a monthly segment on plant care and gardening on the local CBS station, WBOC TV, Delmarva Life. She also produces Delmarva Gardens, a 30-minute garden show that is available on public access channel PAC 14 and on YouTube channels. Delmarva Gardens offers up-to-date monthly gardening information.
