Faculty Success Updates - October 2026

Item Tagged With:

Last month, we reviewed the updates to the Faculty Success user experience. Since the Spring term, several additional enhancements have been introduced to improve the platform's ability to generate the University CV. These updates include modifications to various activity screens and changes to the configuration of the University CV report. Furthermore, a University CV Report (Interactive) is now available, mirroring the Annual Activity Report (Interactive) that many faculty members use to finalize their annual report submissions each Spring.

Activity Screen Changes

Several activity screens now feature a new checkbox labeled "Exclude from University CV." When selected for a specific activity, that entry will be excluded from the generated University CV report. By default, this box is unchecked for all existing activities. You can edit individual activities to check this box as needed.

Screens supporting this filtering functionality include:

  • Research Advising
  • Presentations
  • Significant Works in Public Media
  • Creative Scholarship
  • Professional and Extension Publications
  • Patents, Inventions, Entrepreneurial Technology Transfer
  • ORA-Managed Awards and Active ORA-Managed Awards
  • Other Awards and Gifts
  • University Service
  • External, Community, and Other Service
  • Media Contributions and Outreach Presentations
  • Consulting
  • Public Engagement Scholarship and Service

Conversely, the Continuing Education activity screen features an "Include in CV" checkbox. This box is unchecked by default for existing entries. To include specific Continuing Education activities in the University CV report, edit the corresponding activity and check the box.

Under Honors and Awards, faculty can now link awards directly to related research records in Faculty Success, such as specific Publications, Presentations, or Creative Scholarship. This functions similarly to linking Publications with funding records like ORA-Managed Awards or Other Awards and Gifts.

The Research Advising activity screen now supports documenting the Thesis/Dissertation Title for the student.

Presentation entries now support specifying the percentage of involvement for each listed presenter or collaborator under the author/presenter details.

University CV Report Changes

As mentioned above, activity inclusion from multiple screens is now determined by the user-selected inclusion or exclusion flags, such as "Exclude from University CV.".

Publications in the generated report will now include the ISBN if recorded in Faculty Success. Additionally, both Published and Accepted publications are included.

Creative Scholarship activities are included in the report if their status is set to Completed, Published, or Built.
