Navigating Racial Justice & Free Speech in Leadership | Wednesday, April 7, 1-2:30 p.m. ET | Register: go.umd.edu/RJFS
How can we honor both racial justice and free speech? Join Bias Incident Support Services (BISS), Office of Student Conduct (OSC), and an engaging panel of experts as we go beyond theory and delve into how to infuse the practice into our daily work. Our panel has a wealth of experience doing exactly that—interacting in online classrooms, engaging community partners around anti-racism, covering stories about marginalization through student journalism, and addressing bias through campus policies—and will welcome your questions. This is a continuation of our October panel, Demystifying Free Speech & Advancing Racial Justice, but there are no prerequisites to joining.
Panelists:
- Anaya Truss-Williams - student leader and Diamondback reporter
- Gloria Aparicio Blackwell - Director, Office of Community Engagement
- Vanessa Taft - Assistant Director, Office of Student Conduct
- Dr. Nazish Salahuddin - Senior Lecturer & Director of Undergraduate Studies in Psychology, Assistant Chair for Equity & Inclusion in Psychology
