2024 PTK Symposium

Item Tagged With:

Registration is now open for the 6th Annual PTK Symposium online and in-person event March 7-8, 2024!  Focused on Profession, Engagement and Promotion (PEP), this year’s Symposium provides information, inspiration and celebration for the significant contributions of PTKs here at UMD.  The event is for PTK faculty and those who work with and manage them.

Offering 16 concurrent sessions in the PEP tracks, plenary addresses will also feature Provost Jennifer King Rice and Raphael Lorente, Dean of the School of Journalism. Sessions will include discussions of PTK careers inside and outside of academia, PTK engagement in shared governance, creating a more positive work environment for PTK faculty, and a range of other topics relevant to PEP.

Launching this year is a special program to create lasting mentor-mentee relationships between PTK faculty.  Whether you're a more experienced PTK Faculty member or a new PTK Faculty member, this program offers opportunities for growth in teaching, research, administration, leadership, work-life balance, and more. The matching process will be led by the Social/Networking PTK Symposium Committee. We aim to extend this program beyond the duration of the symposium for long-term impact.
