Fall 2024 T.E.R.P.S. for Terps Suicide Prevention Training for Faculty and Staff

The Counseling Center is offering new sessions of our Training to Evaluate, Respond to, and Prevent Suicide (T.E.R.P.S.) for Terps this semester. As a reminder, T.E.R.P.S. for Terps is a 3-hour comprehensive training that provides faculty and staff the information needed to recognize when a student is in crisis and the skills and resources to respond effectively.

The open registration sessions of T.E.R.P.S. for Terps are available to any UMD faculty and/or staff person and will occur in-person only this semester. Please sign up for only one date using one of the sign-up sheets linked in the buttons below. RSVP is required to attend. Space is limited and is first-come, first served. Please note that we expect participants to arrive on time and stay for the whole session. As such, please only sign up if you plan to attend for the full 3-hour session.

As a reminder, this training is for faculty and staff. Any student who is looking for suicide prevention training can sign up for Mental Health First Aid.

Please feel free to direct any questions to the T.E.R.P.S. for Terps coordinator, Dr. Merrill Reiter, at mreiter@umd.edu. Please also use this contact information to request disability accommodations.
