Service That Matters: Empowering PTK Faculty

Mar 6, 12:30 pm
- 1:20 pm

Given the variance in onboarding and mentoring processes amongst Departments/Units, PTK Faculty have expressed confusion about service, such as what opportunities are available, how to get involved, and what to document about their activities. Whether or not service responsibilities are explicitly covered in contracts, promotion and merit raises often require that faculty be involved in some service at one or more levels (Dept/Unit, College, University, Professional, and/or Community). Using a semi-structured process, this interactive zoom workshop will assist PTK Faculty in 1) learning about types of service activities at various levels, 2) deciding what kind of service interests them, 3) planning specific steps to getting involved, and 4) evaluating the outcomes in the context of their career plans.
