John Bono is an Associate Clinical Professor of Information Systems and the Associate Department Chair in the Department of Decision, Operations & Information Technologies at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. He also serves as Associate Academic Director of the MS in Information Systems and Director of the Smith Analytics Consortium. With almost 20 years of teaching experience, he is passionate about teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in problem-solving, programming, analytics, databases, Web application development, and systems development lifecycle. He has taught at the Volgenau School of Engineering at George Mason University, School of Technology and Innovation at Marymount University, and School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology at University of Maryland, Global Campus.
Aside from his academic experience, Dr. Bono has over 25 years of professional experience at for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. His interests include: the design, development, and implementation of information systems to solve business problems; application of systems development methods; and technology acceptance and user adoption within organizations. He earned his PhD in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University after completing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The Catholic University of America and Master of Science in Electronic Commerce from University of Maryland, Global Campus. He also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) credential from the Project Management Institute.
