UMD/UMB Faculty Mentoring Workshops

Jenn Aumiller, MeD, Director of GPILS/OPS Career and Professional Development and the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Blessing Enekwe, PhD, Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars at the University of Maryland College Park are offering another round of Faculty Mentoring Workshops.

This series of discussions is part of the Entering Mentoring Series which was developed at the University of Wisconsin, Madison by Pfund, House, Asquith, Spencer, Silet, and Sorkness. The content of each session in the curriculum is designed to address the key concerns and challenges identified by research mentors that train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. 

Fall sessions will run Tuesdays from 10:00 am until 11:30 am in Zoom. Please register for each session individually at the link below. If you do not register for an individual session, you will not receive the Zoom link for that session.

If you have not participated in this workshop before, please register for all four sessions. If you have participated in some but not all topics, feel free to register for only those that you missed or would like a refresher on.

October 19th – Introduction and Effective Communication

October 26th – Aligning Expectations and Assessing Understanding

November 2nd – Addressing Equity and Inclusion

November 9th – Supporting Independence and Promoting Professional Development
