Faculty Affairs: Core Faculty Development
The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) oversees tenure and promotion processes, including promotion for Librarian Faculty, Professional-Track Faculty, and other faculty appointments. The office supports all aspects of the faculty experience on campus from recruitment through retirement with particular attention to recognition, information sharing, mentoring, reporting, and the development of policies and procedures. OFA hosts discussions on topics relevant to faculty life and career development; holds an annual orientation for new faculty members, and helps keep the faculty informed about events, policies, and opportunities.
All UMD faculty members should receive the OFA newsletter (and can opt out if desired), so keep an eye out for deadlines and announcements. If you are not receiving it and would like to, please let us know at faculty@umd.edu.
